Tomb of Jesus son of Joseph - links

I am sure you have all heard the hype by now about the tomb that was found 27 years ago with ossuaries in it that have several biblical names in one family tomb. The Discovery channel and James Cameron have come together to try to sound authoritative in making this out to be the actual tomb of Jesus. There are so many holes in their theory and possibly even some lies that have to be sorted through. Here are a couple of links that are really good to help sort through all of this.

This all turns out to be a bunch of hype and look for publicity and book deals (a.ka. money) over something that was found nearly 30 years ago but the scholars/scientific community knew better than to make a big deal over because there is really nothing significant there.

They merchandise the word of God

I noticed, as I browse from one blog to another, there are blogs where preachers rumble about their views of the Word of God, exchanges of scriptural idealism based on their own understanding. I noticed too that some preachers are authors and they formed a circle of friends through blogs and advertise to each other their merchandise by giving comments to each other. What do you think is their merchandise? They are selling their books about the gospel. It contains their point of views about the gospel!

On the blogs, some allow comments from the outside of the circle, but some would really delete your comment if you say otherwise. You can try to look at my sidebar at the lower most and try to determine if what I said is true otherwise, you can place your comments below.

2 Corinthians 2:14-17 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task? Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, like men sent from God

But how about the aroma that these peddlers spreads? They stink for those who understands the Truth:

Ecclesiastes 10:1-3
1 As dead flies give perfume a bad smell, so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.
2 The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left.
3 Even as he walks along the road, the fool lacks sense and shows everyone how stupid he is.

Imagine, these peddlers does not only write a little folly but a whole book or more! But time will come that they shall weep, not because they received the judgement for their folly but because no one buys their merchandise.

Revelation 18:11-13,19
the merchants of the earth weep and mourn for her, since no one buys their cargo anymore, 12cargo of gold, silver, jewels, pearls, fine linen, purple cloth, silk, scarlet cloth, all kinds of scented wood, all kinds of articles of ivory, all kinds of articles of costly wood, bronze, iron and marble, 13cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, frankincense, wine, oil, fine flour, wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and slaves, that is, human souls. 19And they threw dust on their heads as they wept and mourned, crying out, "Alas, alas, for the great city where all who had ships at sea grew rich by her wealth! For in a single hour she has been laid waste. 20Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, for God has given judgment for you against her!"

Their hearts were hardened already. But do we really need only to believe and once saved always save? To whom shall we believe? Who shall speak of what God said for us to believe? Let us hear what Apostle Paul said about believing and salvation on my next post.

thanks for the space! To God be the Glory
